Booth # B6
Gallery Jin was established in Tokyo in 1998. Since then, we have been actively focusing on young artists, and put our effort to bringing out unique and fresh sensitivities in Japanese contemporary art. We have been introducing prints in particular. Among our recent notable artists, there is Shoji Miyamoto, who creates water-woodcuts whose technique derives from traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e woodcuts.
Another is Tamana Araki, who is now based in NYC. Araki has been introduced to a number of Japanese art museums, and she has been constantly producing copper engravings as well as installation works. Few colors are used in the copper engravings, but Araki’s work attracts our attention because of its unique style and character.
After settling down in 3331 Arts Chiyoda Tokyo which functions as an art centre, in May 2011, Galley Jin have actively participated in foreign art fairs and now we aim for further development.
Featured artists: Shoji Miyamoto, Tamana Araki, Megumi Mizutani, Ai Miyoshi.
