Anthony Kirk has been a collaborative Master Printer in New York since arriving from Scotland in 1974. His printmaking studio encourages close co-operation between artist and printer at all stages of proofing and edition printing, ensuring the artist’s intention is fully realized. Recent projects include not only those from artists of renown but also drypoints, aquatints, relief prints and monotypes from emerging artists.
The late Master Printer Marc Balakjian characterized the printer-artist relationship as akin to that of a taxi driver and passenger. The passenger sets the destination and the driver chooses the route.
